About
Sixty Pounds, Fifteen Minutes, One Perfect Shot
The Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor near Brookings, Oregon is one of the most remote and most spectacular stretches of the Oregon Coast. The Natural Bridges area — a series of sea arches carved by thousands of years of Pacific surf — is the kind of place that makes you understand why photographers haul heavy gear down unmarked trails.
Jeremy Burke hiked down to the bottom with a 60-pound pack, only to realize he'd ended up on the wrong side of the arch. Most photographers would have turned back. He made the climb over anyway.
Once he was set up, a storm started rolling in from the Pacific — which in the Pacific Northwest means you have a decision to make quickly. The window between beautiful dramatic light and "you're going to get soaked" can close in minutes. He had about fifteen.
In a location this spectacular, Jeremy typically shoots 3,500 frames. He got 12. The light was that perfect, and the moment passed that fast. This image came from those 12 frames.

About the Artist
Jeremy Burke is a multiple award-winning photojournalist and Oregon Coast fine art photographer. After 20 years as a newspaper publisher and 15 years behind the lens, he shoots between 5,000 and 20,000 images every month — and sometimes the best ones come from the days when the weather had other plans.
Built to Order
Every print in this collection is individually produced after your order is placed — never mass-manufactured or pulled from inventory. That means your piece is made specifically for you, using the materials and format you select.
Production takes 2–3 weeks from the time of order. Each print is personally inspected by Jeremy before it ships.
