Two Hours in Line for Ten Minutes Under a Tree. Worth Every Minute.

I thought I was going to have this place to myself.

I woke up early, drove to Portland, arrived at the Japanese Garden at 8:30 — and walked into every photographer in the Pacific Northwest. It was peak fall color on a Friday, which apparently everyone in the PNW had figured out. I waited in line to get in. Then I hiked up to the famous tree. There was already a line there too.

I waited 2 to 3 hours for 10 minutes with that tree.

When I finally stepped under the canopy, I understood immediately why everyone had come. The branches twist in every direction. The color doesn't read as autumn — it reads as fire. Moss covers everything and deepens the light. The variations of red and orange and gold move around you as you move through the space. I could have stayed all day. I had ten minutes.

For orders within the continental United States, delivery typically takes 2–4 weeks from the time of purchase — including production. Orders shipped to Hawaii, Alaska, or international destinations may require 4–6 weeks.

Every print is custom-packed in purpose-built materials from Jeremy's studio on the Oregon Coast. Tracking is provided once your order has shipped.

If your print arrives damaged, please photograph both the packaging and the damage within 7 days of delivery and contact us directly. We will make it right.
